Veiled Threat
11” x 11” x 3” – 1998
Hidden behind strings of beaded chain is the
word THREAT formed from ceramic letters. Behind the ceramic letters
is a white chalk drawing of my face on a black surface.
Meaning:
In order to see the drawing of my face, the
beaded chain must first be drawn aside. Even after removing this
visual obstruction, the abstract face is difficult to make out
because it is based on a positive and negative black and white.
Anything which is not obvious at first glance is generally viewed as
a threat. |
