Malibu Fire Angel -2000
Fixed within a shallow wooden box is a melted
chunk of aluminum shaped like a figure. It is affixed to a metal
ring which has flatware knife blades attached to the right and left
sides. The knife blades, forming the wings, pierce the sides of the
box.
Meaning:
The metal, refined by the Malibu fire of 1994,serves to evoke the
image of an angel of fire. The box is unable to fully contain the
angel, and points to the fragile nature of our existence. |
